The building of the Geelong Library and Heritage Centre is stunning and magnificent! The library is located at the heart of Geelong city. This is five storied iconic library houses a future-ready sphere of reading, learning, and fun that will change the way we think about the libraries. Each floor is unique with gathering places, reading spaces, children and youth sections, technology rooms with differently coloured theme. This library hosts the heritage archives (past) and the advance technology (future) effortlessly.

The Dome’s levels, named in respect of the Wadawurrung people, the original custodians of the land on which the library is built. Each of the five floors play an important role in the delivery of services to the community. Floor-wise services are listed below:

• Ground floor: Gathering place, news lounge, iPad and Chromebook section, exhibitions and café
• First floor: Children’s space and youth corner
• Second floor: Print and audio books, magazines, multi-media, non-fiction, meeting and discussion rooms
• Third floor: Heritage room, regional archives, local and family history and history reference section
• Fourth floor: Staff administration
• Fifth floor: Community hall and balcony
